Mine is the "Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian." I watched it with my co-employees after having a toxic match-up in our office chess tournament. We treated ourselves with a great movie, a sumptuous snack and a fun moment together. We watched the movie in SM Mall of Asia (MOA) and all of us were unfamiliar to its cinemas. We are even surprised how it was expensive to watch in a cinema. Halata tuloy na puro DVD/VCD na lang ang pinapanood namin. But it is still worth the pay because the place is nice and the movie is so spectacular. Yun nga lang bad trip, hindi namin natapos. The movie will end at 9:55 yet we had to go back to the office by 10pm. From MOA to office is another 30 minutes of travel time. What we did is that we watched the last scenes in the Internet via a video streaming. Lupet diba?
Well, after that movie, I never had been to any cinema at all. I still watched movies in DVD and in the Internet. I know, it is a bit harsh for the movie industry lalo na most of the movies I am watching are pirated copies. But what can I do? I am just one of the millions of movie fans stuck in a corrupt global system which is killing the showbiz industry. I remember my former art professor lecturing us about piracy. Instead of convening against piracy, he is pro-piracy. He told us about the capitalist system of the showbiz industry and the impact of it in the progression of arts and culture. Which I believe is true. One can watch an art film over and over again with the pleasure of comfort in his house without any restrictions, censorship and expenses.
What's your idea?
